In addition to one open teaching position, the Ignacio School District is seeking an athletic trainer and several coaches heading into the 2024-25 school year. The district is also looking to fill a number of bus driving positions and hopes to attract substitutes in several departments (teachers, cooks, custodians, and bus drivers).

This small community is located within 55 miles of both the Durango Mountain Ski Resort (Purgatory) and Wolf Creek Ski Area and is only 15 miles from the world-renowned Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. There is a wealth of resources in the area for those who love water sports, cycling, skiing, fishing, hunting, hiking, and history.

Ignacio School District operates on a 4-day school week (Monday through Thursday) and offers free health, hearing, vision, and dental, including a Non-Stop Wellness card preloaded with $5,500. Staff members also benefit from PERA Retirement and American Fidelity insurance for additional coverage, and some school housing exists for staff members, but it is dependent upon availability.
