The San Juan BOCES is currently hiring a business services administrative assistant and a school-based SSP-Paraprofessional to support virtual specialized service providers.

The business services administrative assistant will oversee daily operations of the Durango San Juan BOCES office, and assist the Director of Finance, Executive Director, & Human Resources Manager. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a variety of business processes, including bookkeeping, and provide support for both clerical and administrative assistants.

The role of the SSP- Paraprofessional is to provide support for the Specialized Service Provider (SSP) and related students in classrooms and other instructional settings. This individual will be expected to develop professional relationships among school staff, related special education teams, and family members under the supervision of and in partnership with the SSP.

The San Juan BOCES provides Leadership and Specialized Service Providers to support the evaluation, identification, and service implementation for students with disabilities at school in the following districts: Archuleta County (Pagosa Springs), Bayfield, Dolores, Dolores County (Dove Creek), Ignacio, Mancos, Montezuma-Cortez, and Silverton. In addition, we provide contracted services to Durango Schools and a number of private and charter schools in our region.

Our primary role is to support our member school districts as the Administrative Unit for Exceptional Student Services. Additionally, we support a variety of grant-funded collaborative initiatives. The San Juan BOCES has just over 80 exceptional employees working in schools across 5 counties!
